About the artist

Julie Courtemanche finds her roots on the shores of the French River in Northern Ontario. She is a life-long painter who specializes in acrylics. She has taught visual arts and media arts at Collége Notre Dame- a French secondary school in Sudbury- since 1989.

Albert Einstein said that “imagination is more important than knowledge”. And he was right. The creative experience connects us to the spark of the divine that is within us all. When we tap into our creative spirit we reveal the highest expression of who we are. Artwork is the manifestation of that experience and a deeply personal journey. I believe that visual art is truly meaningful when it awakens a new perspective, inspires a reflective moment or evokes an unexpected emotion in both the artist and the observer.

“La créativité c’est l’intelligence qui s’amuse” - Albert Einstein
